A general rule prohibiting identical elements from being adjacent. In practical terms, this means that if it appears there are two adjacent identical elements, they are actually one element. Called the OCP.

 

An analysis of contour segments where the all features making up the contour segment are under a single root. See also two-root analysis . (C & H)

A node left after a delinking process generally deleted.
