An assimilation process where all features of one segment are assimilated to another segment. In feature geometry, this is the spreading of the root node. This is exemplified in Ancient Greek by the change from esmi to emmi "I am." Also called complete assimilation. See also assimilation, partial assimilation .

 

An analysis of contour segments where each feature making up the contour segment is under a different root. This analysis assumes the No Branching Constraint. See also one-root analysis .
